Uludağ Economy Summıt Started

Uludağ Economy Summit organised annually for the fifth time by Capital and Ekonomist magazines have started. Editorial Director of Capital and Ekonomist magazines, Rauf Ateş made the opening speech of summit that will host many prominent names representing the business world. Rauf Ateş the Editorial Director of Capital and Ekonomist magazines stated in his opening speech that they put on a lot of effort to carry this summit further every year, setting the bar even higher with Uludağ Economy Summit. Expressing the importance of the business world representatives who join the summit, Rauf Ateş thanked the representatives who participated the events they conduct in Istanbul and everywhere in Anatolia. He finished his speech by commemorating Koç Holding's Chairman of the Executive Board Mustafa Koç who died the previous month and making the audience watch a video, shot by close friends of Mustafa Koç. In the video, his friends Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ, Ümit Boyner, Cem Boyner, Oya Eczacıbaşı, Ayşegül Dinçkök, Osman Çarmıklı who are businesspeople and Fuat Güner the musician shared their memories about late Mustafa Koç.

In the summit hosting many important guests, another opening speech was made by Bora Koçak who is the CEO of Çelik Motor, which contains the main sponsor of the event; Garenta. Bora Koçak said that as Garenta, they were very happy to be the main sponsor of the most important economy meeting of Turkey, Uludağ Economy Summit. He stated this was the fifth annual meeting of Uludağ Economy Summit in the sponsorship of Capital and Ekonomist magazines; and they were proud to be supporting such a big event that has the finger on business world's pulse for the last five years.

Bora Koçak mentioned that Uludağ Economy Summit is attended by the world's and Turkey's prominent speakers as it was in the previous years. He said, 'At the core of the various subjects to be covered in all sessions, there is the goal of contributing Turkey's economy and carrying the country to the place it deserves in world league. The vision of Uludağ Economy Summit's and ours, is guided by this great aim. We, as Garenta, have a similar vision in our own field, car rental sector.

Koçak explained that, as it was in the previous years, car rental sector grew in double-digit rates in 2015 too, reaching as much as 300 thousand units in total: '130 thousand units of automobiles that consist roughly the 20 percent of all passenger cars sold in Turkey in 2015, were bought by car rental companies. Bearing in mind that this is around 50 percent in Western Europe, we can estimate that car rental sector will exceed 350 thousand units here in very near future.'

Explaining that leasing the cars is always more advantageous compared to the buying, for both time saving and corporate capital management, Bora Koçak said that aside from long term and daily car rentals, a next generation service; hourly car leasing will be an important trend in the near future and develop quickly.

Borak Koçak stated that Çelik Motor, the first company of Anadolu Group, has celebrated their 55th year in the market. He told, 'Garenta, the youngest brand of Çelik Motor which left behind more than half a century, is growing in a great pace. With our Garenta brand, we provide next generation services to our customers. In the beginning of 2016, we underwent a big transformation within our company. All our leasing operations were united under the roof of Garenta which became the 2nd biggest company in the market in a short time. Garenta had started as a daily car rental brand only 1.5 years ago. With that unification of brands, 'Çelik Motor Filo' has also been renewed.?

Çelik Motor's CEO Bora Koçak added that in the oncoming period, their costumers will get long term leasing services from 'GarentaPRO'; and short term rental services from 'GarentaDAY' brands. He stated that their reorganisation made them reach a certain level with buying 16 thousand cars, re-selling 13 thousand used cars a year from different car brands and managing a parking lot of 30 thousand cars in total. He explained that in very near future, they would start innovative service types to continue their growth trend.

Mentioning their service for the companies, which is named 'pay as much as you use' that will start in April, Bora Koçak introduced GarentaMOOV brand on this. He said, 'The companies and individuals that are affiliated with our system will have the chance to use the common pool of vehicles that are formed in several plaza areas, by just swiping the membership cards they are provided with. They will be able to use the service whenever and as much as they want and only pay for the period of time they used the vehicles.'

Bora Koçak explained that, as an organisation that managed to grow six-fold within six years since 2010, Garenta is aimed to become an international brand born in Turkey. He finished his speech with the words, 'By competing with many steady companies in the leasing market where we got into with a new and domestic brand, we have become one of the three biggest players of the sector in a short period of time. Our aim in the oncoming phase is to make Garenta the biggest player in the market and expand our activities abroad with good timing.'
