Seasonally adjusted services confidence index fell by 0.7 percent to 101.25 in March, from 101.96 in February, reflecting the fall in the number of managers declaring an improved business situation over the past three months and an increase in demand-turnover over the past three months and expecting an increase in demand-turnover in the next three months.

In services sector; business situation index, demand-turnover index and demand-turnover expectation index fell by 2.0 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, compared to the previous month.

Seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index fell by 0.4 percent to 102.97 in March, from 103.40 in February, reflecting the fall in number of managers declaring an increase in business activity-sales over the past three months and expecting an increase in business activity-sales over the next three months. The number of managers evaluating current volume of stock as below seasonal normal increased.

In retail trade sector; current volume of stock index increased by 2.9 percent while business activity-sales index and business activity-sales expectation index decreased by 1.9 percent and 2.1 percent respectively compared to the previous month.

The highest fall seen in construction index, which is well below the optimistic level, by 1.6 percent to 83.67 in March, from 85.0 in February. This fall in the construction confidence index reflected the fall in the number of managers evaluating current overall order books as above seasonal normal and expecting an increase in total employment over the next three months.

In construction sector; current overall order books index and total employment expectation index decreased by 1.4 percent and 1.7 percent respectively compared to the previous month. - Istanbul
