Ankara, Oct 10 (DHA) - Two blasts shook a road junction in the center of the Turkish capital Ankara on Oct. 10, causing many casualties including fatalities. At least 30 were killed, 126 wounded.
The twin explosions erupted ahead of a "peace" march organized by labor unions and a number of NGOs to demand peace in Turkey. The cause of the blasts was not immediately clear.
A witness told one of the explosions occurred at the place where protesters were leaving their bags.
The organizer committee told the march was cancelled and urged people gathering for the protest to leave and go back to their home towns, in order to assure own security.
The police emptied the scene to avoid more casualties in any possible third attack.
