Fethiye Classic Music Festival begins in memory of late Turkish cellist VIDEO YOK Ergün Tos / Fethiye, Sep 17 (DHA) - In Fethiye district of Aegean province of Muğla, the Fethiye Classic Music Festival opened its doors to music lovers for the fourth time, with an opening ceremony in memory of the cellist Benyamin Sönmez who has lost his life in 2011. The concert, organized with support of the Muğla Municipality, was held in a ceremonial ground near the shore line and fishing port area, where pianist Gülsin Onay performed compositions of Beethoven, Debussy and Chopin.

Ergün Tos / Fethiye, Sep 17 (DHA) - In Fethiye district of Aegean province of Muğla, the Fethiye Classic Music Festival opened its doors to music lovers for the fourth time, with an opening ceremony in memory of the cellist Benyamin Sönmez who has lost his life in 2011.
The concert, organized with support of the Muğla Municipality, was held in a ceremonial ground near the shore line and fishing port area, where pianist Gülsin Onay performed compositions of Beethoven, Debussy and Chopin.
Benyamin Sönmez's parents also participated to the event in memory of their son, who has lost his life after a heart attack.
The festival is expected to last 4 days, and to gather Orchestra Academic Başkent within Young Talents programme, group Cellicel, and soloist Poyraz Baltacıgil ? a young cellist who has won the national competition within the festival last year, as well.
